Cultural & Remote Treks

Cultural & Remote Treks are ideal for travellers seeking a balance of adventure, culture, and slower exploration. Distances and altitude are generally more moderate than Bhutan’s major expedition routes, while still offering rewarding trekking days and meaningful encounters along the way.

Our cultural and remote treks combine walking journeys through some of the Bhutan’s least-visited landscapes with deeper immersion into local communities and traditional ways of life. These routes move beyond the well-known trekking corridors into remote valleys, forested mountain trails, and villages where customs, architecture, and seasonal rhythms remain closely tied to the land.

The experience is less about extreme altitude and more about connection; walking through yak-herding settlements in eastern Bhutan, staying near remote farming communities, crossing quiet forests and river valleys, and experiencing a side of Bhutan rarely reached through conventional travel.

18 Days | Brokpa Highland Culture

A remote trekking journey through eastern Bhutan and the protected landscapes of Sakteng Wildlife Sanctuary. This route passes through the semi-nomadic Brokpa villages of Merak and Sakteng, where yak-herding traditions and highland culture remain deeply rooted in everyday life. The trek combines mountain scenery, remote forest trails, alpine passes, and one of Bhutan’s most distinct cultural regions.

Nabji Korphu Trek

13 Days | Community & Forest Trails

A community-based trekking route through the subtropical forests and river valleys of central Bhutan. The trek links remote villages within Jigme Singye Wangchuck National Park and offers strong cultural immersion with village stays, local interactions, and relatively moderate walking conditions. Rich biodiversity, birdlife, and traditional rural life define the experience.

Bumthang Owl Trek

12 Days | Gentle Himalayan Trekking

One of Bhutan’s quieter and lesser-known trekking routes, the Bumthang Owl Trek moves through pine forests, alpine meadows, and traditional villages across the Bumthang region. The route offers a balance of moderate trekking, mountain scenery, and cultural exploration, making it ideal for travellers seeking a softer Himalayan trekking experience..

Gangtey Trek

05 Days | Scenic Valley & Village Walks

A shorter and more accessible trekking route connecting the beautiful Phobjikha Valley with remote villages and forested ridgelines. The trek combines scenic mountain landscapes, monastery visits, and opportunities to experience rural Bhutanese life at a slower pace.
